I was out in Kentucky Town trying to find a great location for a cache in honor of my ancestors, Lowell and Irene Hansard who grew-up in this town. I followed Vittitoe Rd. and stumbled across an old, semi-abandoned, cemetery. There is an elderly man who lives next door, who didn't seem to care that I was walking around the headstones. I did some research and the cemetery is public property, but has no caretakers. I've been told the grass can get waist high in the summertime due to lack of care. I placed the cache in a safe location, but I would still wear boots and lots of bug spray during the summer months. There are a lot of wild thorns, broken headstones and wild animal nests in the middle of the cemetery, so use caution if you decide to wander around.
Have fun and please no night caching because of the neighbors. Please visit from 9am-5pm due to respect. If anyone ever asks what you're doing, just say, "genealogy research." Some of the founders of Kentucky Town and some of the outlaws who rode with the Lee/Peacock gang are buried here.
Be safe and have fun.
