Cloudland Canyon State Park sits on Lookout Mountain in the NW corner of the state of Georgia. This cache is a camo'd plastic container off of the blue diamond trail, near the interpretive center and overlook. Once the trail makes a sharp turn and you see two blue diamond trail markers, you are close, and will be leaving the trail soon.
Even up on the rim, GPS signals can bounce! Give your GPS time to settle. Apply your geo-sense: this cache is well away from any rim edges or steep descent! It is not in or on any tree, living or dead. Please do not disturb any plants or lichen in your search.
There is a $5 daily entrance fee to Cloudland Canyon State Park, unless you are a member of the Friends of Georgia State Parks!
Placed with permission of the park manager and park naturalist. Please take care to understand the basic rules of geocaching in order to help keep the game enjoyable for all who participate. Please do not move or vandalize the container. Replace the cache like or better than you found it (exactly where you found it).
Sign the log book and leave it in the cache. If you want to take any of other items in the cache, they are there for trade; be sure to leave something of equal or greater value, but don't leave any kind of food items, or anything that is highly aromatic, which could attract critters/creatures/rodents/bugs!
All trails close at sunset, so this is a daylight-only find.
Enjoy your visit at the park and remember to re-hide the cache like or better than you found it and practice, "Leave No Trace." While visiting any Georgia State Park, please obey all park rules and remain on the marked trails as you make your way to find the geocaches!
