Geocache Description:

Ste-Anne is the oldest Acadian parish on mainland Nova Scotia.  Acadians returning from exile had settled the area in 1767 and built a small chapel for worship. This included the Hubbards who founded the neighbouring village of Pointe-des-Hubbard.Since the late 1700s, my entire family has been buried in the cemetary.

In 1808 a new church was constructed to serve the growing Acadian population in the area.  However, the structure caught fire in 1900 and burned to the ground.  Not to be defeated, the parish built a new church over a six month period, and opened to the public for Christmas mass in 1900.

The posted coordinates take you close by to a Hubbard monument inside Sainte-Anne Cemetery. The cemetery is fairly large but the search shouldn't take to long There is no need to venture to the older sections in the back or across the road next to the church.
