Começa em Chaves e termina em Faro, ao longo de 738,5Km de extensão, arrecada o título da estrada mais longa de Portugal!

No Baixo-Alentejo, atravessa os concelhos de Ferreira do Alentejo, Aljustrel, Castro Verde e Almodôvar.

Diz-se que “de Almodôvar a Faro,
tem tantas curvas como os dias de um ano”.

Prevê-se que num futuro próximo, seja criada uma rota turística, envolvendo municípios de norte a sul, com vista a dinamizar a vertente turística.
