此寺廟空間格局及外觀皆十分簡樸，裝飾特色包含剪黏、泥塑、石雕、木雕以及彩繪。彩繪主要出現在木構件上，如正殿脊檁繪有太極八卦，左右各有一龍。通樑則繪有觀音、佛祖之故事傳說。五股西雲寺傳雲以「金龜穴」風水寶地為廟址，前方可俯瞰臺北盆地，至今山形仍舊明顯，頗具特色。
