Geocache Description:

I recently did a 15 Multi-Caches in 15 Days challenge cache which had me travelling quite a bit because there aren't too many multi's in the area. So, to remedy that a bit, I'm putting out two more - this being the first...

A quick two stage multi in a park.
Note: Park hours are 7am-11pm (Apr-Sep) and 7am-10pm (Oct-Mar)

About Dr. Bruce:

Dr. Herbert A. Bruce was born in Blackstock in 1868. His parents, recognizing the importance of education, relocated to a farm located on the site of this park and surrounding area, so their children could attend Port Perry High School. His boyhood ambition was to become a Doctor. After two apprenticeships with Pharmacists, he had saved enough money to enroll in the Toronto School of Medicine. In 1892, he graduated at the top of his class and received his MD in 1893. That same year, he was one of eight graduates appointed as House Surgeons to the Toronto General Hospital.  While there, he took post-graduate training in surgery and, in 1896, became the second Canadian to qualify for a Fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons in England. Also in 1896, he was appointed as an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. He returned to Toronto in 1906 and set up his practice. In 1911, he bought a home at the corner of Wellesley and Sherbourne to accommodate a growing practice, which he turned into The Wellesley Hospital. That same year, he was elected President of the Ontario Medical Association and as a Fellow of the American Surgical Association. In 1916, he was appointed Inspector-General of Canadian Medical Services. He was requested to produce a report on the medical care given to Canadian soldiers overseas. The resulting ‘Bruce Report’ condemned the care received by Canadian soldiers, specifically in some British hospitals, and recommended the complete reorganization of the Canadian Medical Service. The report caused a furor in the British press and in Canadian Parliament, and Dr. Bruce was forced to resign the position as Inspector-General. After an active 35-year career as a surgeon, Dr. Bruce embarked on a new career in 1932, as the 15th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, appointed by Prime Minister R.B. Bennett. His final contribution to public service was as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Toronto, Parkdale, 1940-46. He resigned his parliamentary seat in 1946, but continued to serve the University of Toronto as Governor. He gave up his interests in the Wellesley Hospital so that it could become a General public hospital in 1948. The Honorable Herbert Alexander Bruce died in 1963 at age 94. He is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.

The Multi:

At the posted coordinates, you will find a plaque dedicated to H.A. Bruce. Gather the following information:

A = Years as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario (Subtract two given years to get answer).
B = Fourth digit in year he condemned the state of Toronto's poorer neighbourhoods.
C = The decade, in the 1900's, that he championed Cancer care.
D = The decade in the 1900's, that he championed Social Housing.

Note: For clarification, if something happened in 1866, then it occurred in the 7th decade of the 1800's.

Down the walkway from the plaque, you will find a small children's playground. Gather the following information:

E = Number of blue whale spring rides.
F = The number of swings
G = Number of hand-holds on the monkey bars.
H = Number of levers to play notes
I = Number of persons rowing the boat.
J = Number of people asleep in bed.

You should now have 10 letters (A-J) with single digit answers for each letter.

Now for a little math:

K = G - (A + D - 1)
L = (H + F) / (C - J)
M = (C - 1) * F
N = H / (C - 1)
O = (G + H) / B
P = B + E
Q = (H - I + J)
R = (F * G) - 2A
S = (A + B + D + G) / I
T = ((C + G - J) * F) / (B + J)

The final is located at N44 KL.MNO W078 PQ.RST

As a check of your answer, the digital root of the sum of ALL 7 north digits is 7. The west DR is also 7. Incase you've never run across this term before, this explains what a Digital Root (DR) is: Digital Root Wiki
