Unfortunately I know very little of the history of this church, but I'd be interested to learn and will update the page as and when I find more information.
Eggborough Methodist Church was built in 1880 during a period of growth in the region, to provide a small but important place of worship in the rural village. Over time, attendances gradually fell into single figures, threatening the church's very existance. However, in recent years, work has been carried out by a small group of voluteers to improve both the building and the remeberance gardens to the front, attracting greater attendances both to church services but also other local events held here. The church has become increasingly important as a focal point of the village and is now a primary meeting place in the community for many groups and societies. It is also used for private events such as childrens parties.
Eggborough Methodist is considered a generous, outgoing church, annually hosting a McMillan coffee morning and a Fair Trade coffee morning, as well as, at Harvest time, collecting a large amount of food to support the Salvation Army meals for the homeless and the Selby Food Bank.
