Geocache Description:

What a story. What a bridge. Add it up and you have an interesting visit in one of Greenfield's most historic spots.

Not only do you see that beautiful covered bridge, but the stories are amazing here. The bridge was closed for quite some time as a result of maintenance and of course the recent hurricane. All rebuilt and fun to go over. Did you know legend says that it is haunted? If you are a local, you will know that story. It is also part of history. Especially on a full moon night. This is also rich in history about how the Mohawk Indians raided Deerfield and how they captured the Williams and would not set them free, except for ransom. Eunice was the only one they did not free and she spent her life and married into the Mohawk Indians. This is a great detailed story, please search for this, as it is really interesting. Please bring your own pen.
