Welcome to Elmstead Wood! This is one of our favourite areas for walking and when we first discovered it there was a good series of caches to find. This was one of the reasons that I created my Green Chain Walk series (starts at GC6C5X7) to link up. When the Elmstead Wood caches all suddenly got archived I decided this was too good an opportunity to miss and set out to place some more (along with another caching pair D&D who have also created some great ones). The caches are deliberately not numbered - have a wander any way you like and enjoy exploring the maze of paths that run through these woods.
The woods can get very muddy - wellies recomended after rain. They are a very popular spot with dog-walkers so plenty of muggles about!
All of my caches will have waterproof logs so no need to replace even if the cache gets a bit damp - they should still work. Please let me know with a Needs Maintenance if anything is amiss, and feel free to drop me a line if you need an extra hint for any. Finally, please please put the caches back exactly as you find them - the right way round and in the same place - thank you!
This cache is right in the corner of the woods where several main footpaths meet and you'll find a green chain post. The cache is a micro-sized tube. Happy hunting!
