Cholera Monolith
Cholera is a severe digestive system illness. Today it's not a common illness in Europe, but unfortunately in Africa there are some smaller epidemics even nowdays. In Hungary there were more cholera epidemics in the 19th century, the biggest was in 1831. That time it arrived from Galicia to Hungary. Cholera spreads mostly in sewers, but that time there weren't any. There were wells though, and some of them were infected with cholera. To prevent the spread of the epidemic, the government put chemicals in the wells, but they put in the chemicals in a too high concentration and that caused even more deaths. In the Tokaj Wine Region the situation were terrible, and there were a smaller revolution, called "Cholera Revolution" but it was defeated by the government. In Erdőbénye 203 people have died in Cholera, the Monolith was made to remember them and the cache is for the same reason. The cache can be found close to the Monolith on the left side, in the bushes.

 

Koleraoszlop
A kolera egy súlyos emésztőendszeri megbetegedés. Európában már nem elterjedt de afrikában még ma is kialakulnak kisebb járványok a fejlettlenebb országokban. Az 1800-as években több kolerajárvány is volt Magyarországon, a legsúlyosabb 1831-ben, kereskedők hozták be galíciából. A kolera leginkább szennyvízcsatornákban terjed, de ez errefelé nem volt elterjedt. Voltak viszont kutak, amikbe képes volt beszivárogni a fertőzés, megfertőzte a vizet és akik ittak belőle elkapták a betegséget. Ez ellen vegyszerekkel próbáltak védekezni, de túl nagy koncentrációban öntötték őket a kutakba ezért sokszor még rontott a helyzeten. A tokaji borvidéken a járvány hatására kitört a Kolerafelkelés, de azt a helyi nemesek leverték. Erdőbényén 203 ember halt meg kolerában, ennek állít emléket az oszlop, és a rejtés is. A doboz az oszloptól balra található a bokroknál.
