PLEASE DO NOT HUNT THIS CACHE
AT THIS TIME. A VERY PROTECTIVE SWARM OF HORNETS HAS ATTACKED
TWO GEOCACHERS. WE WILL REACTIVATE THE CACHE AS SOON AS THE
DANGER IS PAST.
This is one of the nicest primitive hiking areas in a really
urban part of Austin. Watch for deer and other wildlife as you find
the several caches placed in this great greenbelt!
This cache was originally placed inside a spring that feeds the
small pond in this location, but it was "drowned" a couple of
times, and then "muggled" when left where it was not supposed to
be. Since we want to continue a cache in this area, we decided it
needed to be relocated to a safer place. You might not be able to
get to it if we have flooding rains, but it should be accessible
the lion's share of the time.
PLEASE BE AWARE of the surrounding area and be watchful of
muggles! A homeless camp has been known to exist NW of the cache
area in the past, and the trails are nearly always busy with
neighborhood walkers and kids playing in the woods.
You can park 2 different places:
along Floral Park at N30 24.445 W97 45.234, or
on Fox Way Dr (cul de sac) at N30 24.724 W97 45.230
The second is a much shorter and less hilly walk, but the first is
lovely if you are up to it.
