Kansas Tree of Souls Traditional Cache

An old Indian legend says there was once a very large, beautiful shade tree in present day Mound City, Kansas. Many tribes and travelers whom passed by admired its strength and were grateful for its shelter from hard rains and the shade it gave against the blazing hot summer sun. Many birds and animals called it home and they could be heard for miles around singing songs of peace and tranquility.

Then one day that all changed when a young warrior sitting under the great tree, decided to carve his name on it, since it was such a lovely place. His knife dug deep into the tree causing it to anguish in pain and weep tears of clear sap. The great tree shook with fury, scaring away the birds. Its leaves turned brown and fell to the ground. This made the young warrior laugh as he continued to cut into the heart of the tree. In response the mighty tree opened its limbs and swallowed the soul of the warrior into its massive trunk. The warrior fought back and tried to find a way out but was doomed to be a prisoner of the tree forever.

As time passed, many others came, and noticed there was no markings on the massive tree so tried to leave their own personal imprint. The mighty tree responded quickly and took as many souls as there were people whom attempted to cut into its bark. Each lost soul tried unsuccessful to escape and this feed the great tree making it stronger, larger and mightier than before. 

Today, the birds and animals have returned and are singing once again. However the leaves continue to turn brown in the fall as a reminder of the struggle within the Tree of Souls.

Your mission is to locate the Tree of Souls and the cache which rests in peace here. Proceed with caution and look out for muggles and escaping souls. Speak softly in respect for the mighty tree and it will respect you in return... listen closely and you can hear the weeping souls still trapped trying to escape …procced with caution or your soul maybe lost forever as well ….
