Come and meet other cachers; eat cake, go for a walk, and celebrate all things great on April 10th.
So why eat cake? because this year we missed celebrating Pi day (yummy pie)!
April 10 is the 100th day of the year (101st in leap years - wikipaedia).
Other fun facts about this day:
1912 – RMS Titanic sets sail from Southampton, England on her maiden and only voyage.
1968 – New Zealand inter-island ferry TEV Wahine founders and sinks at the mouth of Wellington Harbour.
If eating cake is your thing, then join us, and after a walk around Goldie Bush, so plan to get your boots wet.
When: 10th April (Sunday).
Meet : 8.00 am at the published co-ordinates (Horseman road carpark - parking is limited)
Bring: water, food, hat, sunscreen, GPS, camera (risk getting wet), and wear sturdy boots/runners. (optional hiking poles)
There is a loop walk starting at Horseman road:
- Mokoroa Falls track to the Mokoroa Falls
- Mokoroa Stream track
- Goldie Bush walkway track.
For those wanting to do the loop walk, there is a Track Warning: Mokoroa Stream Track is a marked route only, DOC advices extreme care. There are numerous stream crossings, some rock scrambling and slippery rocks (if there is heavy rain we will avoid the Mokoroa Stream Track and the dangers above).
