In the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park. One and half mile hike with 700 ft elevation gain.
This cache just missed getting burned in the 2002 Williams Fire. No such luck this year. The 2003 Grand Prix fire got it. The ammo box survived, but the contents are charred along with the hills. I will leave the burnt box and contents up at the site for interested folks to check out. In the spring a new cache will be placed. I am uploading photos of the burn area.
The easiest way to access this cache is by going North on Mills Ave. in Claremont to the Wilderness Trail parking lot. Dogs on leashes, bikes and horses are allowed. It is about a mile and a half into the cache with a 700 ft. elevation gain. Bear, large cats, and snakes are in the area.
This cache is an ammo box and contains - Cable ties, mini biner, camera to take your picture, tatoos, Elephant key chain, Yatzee game key chain, toy car, word game book, harmonica, Around the corner eye piece. Alcapulco chihuahua figurine, Baskin Robbins gift certificates.
