One Room School Series
CACHE: Should be an easy park and grab. Be careful of the ditch, especially in the winter. Can be found safely without going downhill. Please park on Ward as Lake Pleasant doesn't have a good shoulder. Not winter friendly.
HISTORY: This school without a known name first showed up on the 1874 plat map and was included on maps through 1936. It may have been called the Ward or Hunt School, given the tendencies to name them from prominent farmers or the donating landowners. This is only a theory. Something to keep in mind if you are researching your own family history. The kids in this area would have gone to North Branch Schools after the school closed. A waypoint was added to this to pinpoint the approximate location of the school, which would have been just a tad south of this intersection on the east side of the road. Map images have been included for those interested. I do not have any photos of this school, yet. If anyone has information, please share in your logs or notes below so we all can learn.
