29/02/2016 muistokätköt: Muuntajan kautta onkimaan Multi-Cache

Karkauspäivä on kätköilijöille erityinen päivä, koska monelle viimeisen puuttuvan kalenteriruudukon päivän täyttäminen onnistuu vain joka neljäs vuosi. 29.2.2016 oli myös itselleni viimeinen kätköilykalenterista puuttunut päivä. Järjestin karkauspäivänä keskiyöllä miitin ja piilotin Vuosaareen tämän viiden purkin sarjan kyseisen päivän muistoksi.

The Leap Day is a special day for many geocachers, as filling the find calendar with the 366th day can only be achieved every fourth year. February 29th, 2016 was the final missing day for me as well. I organized an event at midnight and hid this five cache series to commemorate this special day.

Kätkö roikkuu koivun oksassa noin viiden metrin korkeudella maasta. Helpoimmin saat sen logattavaksi teleskooppiongella. Voit tietenkin myös kiivetä slingeillä tai köydellä, jos haluat hoitaa homman vaikeammalla tavalla.

Näin muodostat Gade-koodiavaimen

• Järjestä löytyneet numerot pienimmästä suurimpaan.
• Jos esimerkiksi löysit numerot 6, 17, 9 ja 6, muodosta numerosarja 16679.
• Muista toistaa numerot, jotka esiintyvät useammin kuin kerran!
• Lisää puuttuvat numerot (0-9) sarjan perään suuruusjärjestyksessä, esimerkiksi 16679023458.
• Täytä alla oleva lokerikko toistaen numerosarjaa, kunnes lokerikko on täynnä.

🇬🇧 At the starting location you'll find a transformer building.

Edit (16.4.2025): as the number plate of the transformer building has disappeared, I have updated the task:

1) there is a bus stop near the transformer. What is the number of the bus stop? (Hxxxx, four digits)

2) there is a paved path, leading from the street to the front yard of the apartment building behind the bus stop, passing the transformer. How many floors with apartments (hint: there are balconies in every floor with apartments) does the apartment building have? (one digit)

3) what is the number in the street address of the building? (one digit)

Now you should have six digits which you can use to form a Gade key. If you are not familiar with the Gade key, use the instructions below or use the tool created by Arisoft.

After creating the key, you can find out the final coordinates by replacing the letters with the numbers in the key in the following formula: N eg° kb.ysu E ghd° gt.upn

The cache is suspended from a branch of a birch with no low branches about five meters above the ground. You can use a telescopic rod to reach it easily. As an alternate way, you can also climb to the cache using slings or a rope, but it is much slower.

Creating the Gade solution:

• When you have found the numbers, do this: Sort the individual digits - low to high.
• If, for instance, the numbers you found were 6, 17, 9 and 6 sort the digits like this: 16679.
• Remember to repeat digits that occur more than once!
• Then complete the line, with the missing digits, e.g. 16679023458.
• Fill the table repeating the numbers in the line until it is full.
• now you have: a=1, b=6, c=6, d=7, e=9, f=0, g=2, h=3, i=4, j=5 and k=8

This was just an example. Do the same with the actual numbers you have found!
