GRRO = Greater Roadrunner. It can reach the speed of 20 miles per hour. It mainly walks and runs on the ground, but it is also able to fly very short distances. Greater roadrunner has four toes on each foot. Two toes are positioned forward, other two backward. When it walks, it leaves easily recognized X-shaped footprint in the sand. I actually saw one right here when placing the cache, so look for the “X”!!
This Raptor Series is in honor of Liberty Wildlife moving to the neighborhood! They are the largest wildlife rescue organization in Arizona and you will be able to visit their new facility when it opens Summer of 2016. Come on out and see the wildlife! Both on the trails and indoors.
