BUOW = Burrowing Owl. You may have noticed a lot of signs in the area about Burrowing Owls. The black pipes you see coming out of the ground are man-made BUOW housing communities. Wildlife Rescue organizations relocate Burrowing Owl colonies when developers plan on destroying their current homes in order to build on the land.
This Raptor Series is in honor of Liberty Wildlife moving to the neighborhood! They are the largest wildlife rescue organization in Arizona and you will be able to visit their new facility when it opens Summer of 2016. Come on out and see the wildlife! Both on the trails and indoors.
