A place to call home Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

revkev83: This cache has had a great run! It's seeing some wear, though. Another geocacher and I have discussed a replacement in this spot.

Geocache Description:

You are looking for a cache placed with permission at Redland Baptist Church, a place I happen to call my church home.  Feel free to drive in and park in the lot as you search, but there may be times when the lot is full, such as during Sunday worship.  Staff know that the cache is placed, so you shouldn't get any suspicious questions (perhaps some friendly hellos).

BYOP

The cache itself is not a difficult hide, but it may be different than you are used to.  Special thanks to georick402 for giving us this cache to use!  If the weather has been rainy, you'll have to be careful where you step, but the cache is usually still accessible without having to get your shoes muddy.

The inspiration for this cache came over 100 years ago, when in 1905 Civilla D. Martin and Charles H. Gabriel wrote the now well-known hymn, "His Eye is on the Sparrow," which has been a comfort to many.  The chorus reads:

I sing because I'm happy,

I sing because I'm free,

His eye is on the sparrow,

And I know he watches me.

If you want the inspiration to the hymn, though, you'll have to go back almost 2,000 years!

Happy caching! Congratulations Puzzlid on FTF!
