Dieser Cache ist eine Einladung, eine wichtige Figur der deutschen Geschichte und den Schöneberger Kiez zu entdecken. Es ist mein erster Cache. Viel Spaß! ------ This little cache is an invitation to discover an important figure of German history and to a walk through the streets of Schöneberg. This is my first cache. I hope you will enjoy!
Ich bin im Jahr 1921 in Forchtenberg geboren. Als ich zwölf war, habe ich angefangen, mich für die Politik zu interessieren. Ich hatte immer daran geglaubt, dass jeder Mensch die Welt verbessern kann, indem er sich engagiert. Im Jahr 1942 habe ich mein Studium bei der Universität München begonnen. Dabei habe ich regelmäßig die Freunde meines Bruders getroffen, um über politischen Themen zu sprechen. Nach einer kurzen Zeit habe ich mich mit der Herstellung und der Verbreitung von Flugblättern der Widerstandsgruppe Weißen Rose. Im Jahr 1943 habe ich meinem Bruder geholfen, um politischen Flugblättern in der Universität München zu verteilen. Die Polizei wurde angerufen. Wir wurden verhaftet. Einige Stunde später wurden wir zusammen mit meinem Bruder mit der Guillotine enthauptet. I was born in 1921 in Forchtenberg. When I was twelve, I started developing my political thoughts and my spirit of resistance. I had always believed that each human being could help to improve the world by getting involved. In May 1942 I enrolled at the University of Munich to study biology and philosophy. My big brother Hans who was studying there as well introduced me to his group of friends. I started attending conferences, lectures, art and writing workshops, and eventually political meetings. My brother and his friends started distributing leaflets to ask for the restoration of democracy and social justice and teaching Germans about the importance of passive resistance. They named themselves the White Rose. Police heard about them. Troubles started. In 1943, I helpt my brother to drop stacks of political leaflets at the university while students were still in lecture rooms. The police was called and we were taken. We were beheaded a few hours later. Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said (was) also believed by many others. They just didn t dare express themselves as we did. PS: There are many muggles in the area, especially students. Try to be discrete or to come after 5 pm.
