This cache is part of the Virginia State Parks 80th Anniversary Adventure. Each state park has a unique cache for this series.
This cache is in a clear lock-n-lock container and will contain a logbook, pencil and unique collector's card. There are small prizes for finding 5, 10, 20, and ALL of the caches. Near the site of this smoke house stood the home of the Jerdones. This stately plantation of 1,510 acres was built in 1832 and overlooked Pigeon Run Creek. The mansion was originally named for the Passenger Pigeons that thrived in this area before their extinction in 1914.
