The Winged Pavi Lion is as fierce as it is large. It stands 8 feet tall at the shoulder and has been seen taking down a Clydesdale just for fun. Some skeptics think that the Pavi Lion is just a myth, but equestrians that frequent this area don't take any chances. Pavi Lions can be black as night or a light shade of Pavi Brown, hence its name. Its average life expectancy is from 180 to 250 years, but no one knows for sure. As an obligate carnivore its diet consists of meat, meat and more meat. While very intelligent it has no conscience and shows no remorse. From fossil records it is known to have existed before the Jurassic Period. It hunts either by soaring high in the sky then diving to earth at speeds exceeding 120 mph to clutch its prey in its claws, or by stalking its prey from the ground while stealthily moving among the trees, grass, or row crops. A formidable creature, one has never been captured by scientists or killed by hunters. Be alert; the world needs more lerts.
