Conewago Lake, located in Timber Hills, one of the seven sections of Mount Gretna, was established in 1885 when Conewago Creek was dammed. The lake which is 600 feet above sea level is used as a recreation area complete with lifeguards, beach, picnic grove, snack bar, tube and boat rentals, plus a multitude of other amenities. In the Spring the lake is drained to permit maintenance, inspection and repairs of in-lake structures after the winter ice season. This cache is located where Mount Gretna resident's permitted canoes are stored. Cache is not near the canoes. No parking is allowed in this area. Please park in the public parking lot near the theater and the Jigger Shop. Enjoy the cache, and post pictures of the lake. BYOP
