This is the eighth of a weekly series dedicated to Bagpuss. Episode eight was first broadcast at 1:45 pm on Tuesday 2nd April 1974.
Synopsis:
This week Emily brings back a box, which turns out to be a mouse-sized watermill. Gabriel and Madeleine sing a duet about wheat and baking bread. The mice tell the others that it is a mouse mill, which makes chocolate biscuits out of butterbeans and breadcrumbs. Despite Yaffle's cynicism, they demonstrate by heaving sacks of the ingredients into hoppers, and producing a succession of biscuits. Of course the whole thing is a simple hoax at the expense of Yaffle. Bagpuss is unimpressed and goes back to sleep.
