This series of caches is located along a portion of the Shingle Mill Pathway. This is a 1.25 mile loop beginning at the Pigeon Bridge State Forest Campground. Parking (coordinates provided) for the start of hike are on the south side of Sturgeon Valley Rd, a paved road and just across from the campground. A Michigan recreational passport is required to park and access this State Forest area. No motor vehicles are allowed only hikers, bikers and skiers. The trailhead is on the northside of the campground (coordinates provided). The hike starts at marker #1, to marker #2 and to #3, when you reach marker #4 stay with the trail along the river. This trail will get you to the remaining caches and ends up back at the campground.
Placing this series in the early spring, the conditions along the river portion of this series were a little damp. I had short waterproof boots on and did just fine. Hopefully, all of the puddles dry soon and the hiking is all clear. I had a great time placing these caches and I hope all of the visitors enjoy this area as well.
