The Crested One Traditional Cache

Experience the beauty of the Arizona Sonoran Desert. Unfortunately the rare Crested Saguaro at the cache location has died. However, a relatively new crested saguaro is located 1.6 miles farther east on 96 Ranch Rd (Lat: 32.860974 Lon: -111.148638). It is located on the north side of the road.

This cache is located just a short distance from AZ 79 south of Florence, and provides a great opportunity to experience the beauty of the Arizona Desert and to test your desert navigation skills. Turn east off of AZ 79 onto the 96 Ranch Road, which is located near mile marker 119.  There is parking along 96 Ranch Rd about .5 miles from the cache but if you have a high clearance vehicle you can drive to within .25 miles of the cache.  As always use caution when hiking and watch out for desert critters.
