Geocache Description:

This Cache is part of the 2016 Mount Vernon Parks Geocoin Challenge

Bonnie Rae Park is a future expansion of the Mount Vernon Parks Department. Last years Geocoin event featured the parks grounds that will be used as a retreat and meeting center as well as some sports fields. This years event features the little known trail.

Maddox Creek runs from the highlands of Mount Vernon, through Bonnie Rae Park and discharges in the Skagit River. Park at the trail head marker and head south through the meadow to find the trail leading into the ravine. This trail is a bit soggy in the winter and spring months. This is an active salmon stream and a protected wetland. (The cache is before the trail)

For the event, please park on the east side of the street, using the shoulder as needed. Please do not block the driveways.
