Pitching Coach
Begins his first season as the Tigers pitching coach after being named to the position on October 29, 2015. Joined the Tigers organization after serving as the minor league pitching coordinator for the Atlanta Braves for the last two seasons. Spent 12 seasons (2002-13) in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, including the last nine seasons as the organization's major league pitching coach. In 2012, Phillies starting pitchers led all MLB teams in innings (1033.0) and strikeouts (918) and issued the fewest walks (231) despite injuries to Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee and Vance Worley. In 2011, the Phillies led all major league teams in ERA (3.02), complete games (18), shutouts (21), strikeout/walk ratio (3.22), fewest baserunners/9.0 innings (10.79), fewest pitches/inning (15.4) and quality starts (108) and finished third in strikeouts (1,299); also issued the fewest walks (404) and second-fewest home runs (120). Served as a coach on the 2009 and 2010 National League All-Star teams. Joined the Phillies organization in 2002 as the pitching coach for Class A Clearwater, a position he held through the 2003 season before joining the staff of Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2004. Worked for the Florida Marlins as the major league pitching coach (1998-2001), minor league pitching coordinator (1995-97) and pitching coach for Triple-A Edmonton (1994). Was a minor league pitching coach for Montreal at Class A Rockford (1991), Triple-A Indianapolis (1992) and Class A West Palm Beach (1993). Began his coaching career with Kansas City as a coach for Double-A Jacksonville (1982), Double-A Memphis (1986- 87) and Triple-A Omaha (1985, 1988-90) and as a roving pitching instructor (1983-84). Selected by Kansas City in the third round of the 1976 draft and pitched six years in the Royals system, finishing with a 45-49 record with a 4.07 ERA (785.0IP/355ER) and 26 complete games. He and his wife, Maureen, reside in Sarasota, FL...the couple has one daughter, Megan and one son, Michael.

To enter Belle Isle State Park you will need either a Michigan State Park Passport or a day pass. Residents are $11.00 per year, non residence is $31.00 per year and the daily pass is $9.00 per day.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has given the Belle Isle Cachers exclusive permission to place all geocaches on Belle Isle State Park. Please be respectful to the park, its management and all other visitors during your time here.

This park is very busy year round, please use extreme stealth at all times as every area is being used by others. Rock hides give great views around the island, we have marked the cache location to help with your finds so please replace just as you found them.
