Although the Croatian war is over since more than 20 years, many legacies can still be seen all around the country. But this abandoned artillery bunker on a hill on the outskirts of Sibenik is much older. It was built in second world war or problably before. Anyhow it is in a better condition than many of the younger relics.
Since years, we drive past it and thought about every time that we should actually hide a cache there. Now we have finally made it.
The bunker is open and freely accessible, but however there are only a few concrete footings inside. Nevertheless you have a really great view over the old town and the bay of Sibenik up here.
You can park your car in the residental area below. From there a gravel path goes uphill and with a left turn directly to the bunker. Please note that the cache is not hidden in or directly at the bunker.
Those who are interested in can go on straight ahead at the junction to the top of the hill, where another, much smaller bunker is located (see waypoint). We strongly recommend not to try the direct route over the rockface between the two bunkers!
