Little Mountain East Trail Night Cache
For our returning Geocoin Challenge Friends, you will recognize this place. This time you will be going down the main East Trail. This one is a bit of a hike. Relatively flat. This was built in 2012 by our volunteer group, Mount Vernon Trail Builders. The trail is ADA qualifying, however it is a compacted gravel path, and there are a few gradual ups and downs that may wear you out. There are also benches built from local material to take a rest on if you want. This is the only reason it is not a 1 terrain. Yes it's dark, and a bit spooky in all of this old growth, but there is lots to see here. As you traverse the trail, look at the signs planted at the base of trees that describe what they are. This is also part of the Poetry Trail Project, and you will find poems from local poets posted along the way. When you find GZ, go a bit further and take a look at the magnificent bridge that crosses Carpenter Creek. After you've located the cache, we suggest taking the 'Side Kick' trail back to parking. You may find another cache along the way, and you'll get to experience a different path.
About the cache: Park in the designated area. Navigate to the starting point and begin your hunt for clues.
