Geocache Description:

Cache that will need certain bits of tech to complete.
I have used wifi, a chirp and a NFC tag. So a smart phone with NFC (and a NFC reader, writer app. NFC Tools works) and a GPS handheld device and then you need one of the models that offer the chirp feature.

Please say when the log paper is getting low, will go and put another one in the cache.

First stage (published coordinents) has a wireless signal by the name of the 2nd stage coordinents. Go there and use smartphone to search for wifi signals. Write down the wifi signal name you need, take paper and pen. Don't park in front of the garages. There is a car park opposite way in Northcourt road by football field fence line, maybe walk from there or Shelley Close after turning into main part of the road. I can get the signal on the phone at the start of our dead end bit up by the bungalows.

Second stage the wifi name will give you is a chirp device with a range of about 10m. Need to park up without blocking any ones driveways and get out the car. This is a wireless beacon to give you the 3rd stage coordinents and a little hint as going to a physical item hidden somewhere with a NFC tag in. I have read the chirp says it has a low battery. when you go to the second stage and get the chirp to link to the GPS device and it says low battery please could I be told and will go and change. I will check every month after 9 months of current battery being started if cache not done for a bit.
The chirp uses ANT+ protocol. look it up. Certain phones might do the receiving with an app and even a little dongle. I found one app for Android. For a few pounds you might be able to do.

Now the third stage is a hidden NFC tag down a track that is ok for buggies, pushchairs is nice dry ground. Can get muddy up here if it has been raining. Wellies in the car or got on if walking, cycling this route around north Abingdon.

Your smartphone needs NFC, android phones can use a free app called NFC Tools. On the app when the tag is read the wording comes up at the bottom so a bit of scrolling to get to the 2 sentences it will give you, coordinents and a little hint for the actual cache nearby. That area can also be muddy and so wellies a good idea.

When buying a pack of 5 tags it mentioned certain makes of android phones, here is what listing said.
Brands: Samsung, HTC, Nokia, LG, Sony, BlackBerry and all other makes of mobile and tablet
OS: Android, Blackberry, Windows 8

No mention of iPhone. Might be a group effort with a choice of 2 NFC phones of different makes. Not sure what will read them. Lets see how it goes.

Final behind hiding object and a micro. Not what it started at but changed (july 2016) as never liked a small on display with just a bit of bark covering it. was to public.

A few local eating places. 1 up by Northcourt Lane (spread eagle) and other over the traffic lights and the Oxford Road junction. Closer option is opposite the sweet shop (by entrance going into our road) is a café in the barns that belong to the local church.
