These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
WHAT: World Wide Flash Mob XIII
A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world. Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time. Sonny and Sandy of the PodCacher podcast came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time!
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
Our unusual activity? Everyone wear an unusual, funny, or weird hat.There is no official theme this year.
WHEN: Saturday, June 4, 2016, 1:00 pm - 1:30pm +
This Flash Mob is gathering of geocachers that will be only 30 minutes long and will be happening the same time and date all over the world. Even Australia being 17 hours ahead of Pacific Daylight Savings Time will be holding their event simultaneously with the US event at 03:00 on Sunday morning for the fun of joining in with the worldwide geocaching family.
WHERE: Day's Dam, Lorain, OH At the Picnic Shelter.
WHY: To have fun with your fellow geocachers, trade stories, possibly win a WWFM XIII Geocoin, get a WWFM XIII collectible item, etc.
Last year WWFM had participants in 389 events in 40 countries, attended by 13,000 participants!
EVENT DETAILS
Event plan: (30 minutes long!)
Not a rigid time line!
Until 1:00 PM : Get here early. Stay not far from, though not right at the posted coords, somewhere you can see GZ, and act like a muggle.
1:00 PM : Enjoy the fun spirit of the WWFM! Gather up quickly at the posted coords! Sign log sheet(optional), trade trackables and swap stories.
1:10 PM : Raffle time!!! You might win Official Commemorative WWFM XII Geocoin
1:20 PM : PHOTO time! Gather for group photo.
1:30 PM : Event Ends. Or not.

NOTE: There will NOT be an official Geocaching.com Souvenir this year in 2016.
There will be a basket for Travel Bug exchange.
After the event is over, plan to meet up with other geocachers later to spend a fun day caching! If you haven't been in this area before, there are quite a few caches in the near vicinity and many more within a few mile radius. Have fun!Plenty of nearby parking
