Close to a cycle route with views of the River Usk.
Sustrans Cycle Route 88 will eventually follow a coastal route from Caerleon to Margam Country Park near Port Talbot. At this point it passes close to the River Usk and runs alongside Heidenheim Drive (named after Newport's Twin City). Heidenheim Drive was originally built to carry traffic north off the M4 and thus ease the congestion in the Brynglas Tunnels. Much of the land required for the construction of the road was taken from what used to be Grove Park, and the construction of the cycle route at the same time as the road was part compensation for that loss.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ACCESS THIS CACHE FROM HEIDENHEIM DRIVE.
