Survivor is a long running reality television show on CBS that we have watched pretty steadily since it first aired in 2000. On the show the castaways compete against another, strategically "voting" each other out until only one remains and can be called the "Sole Survivor."
All castaways on the show are divided into "tribes", first at least two tribes competing against each other and finally one merged tribe that contains all remaining contestants. The original tribe names are decided by the production staff, but the castaways may choose their own tribe name when they make the merge.
