Geocache Description:

Et fint stoppested på vei til Vikinghytten. Velegnet turområdet for både liten og stor.

A nice place to take a break on the way to Vikinghytten, or and ending point for a shorter hike in Hortlandsdalen. 

Dette har vært en gammel kommunal avfallsplass, som var aktiv i perioden 1966 til 1977.  Her er det gjort tiltak i nyere tid for å forbedre området og få vekk forurensing, som å få vekk tungmetall og næringssalter i elven. Skoleelever i området kommer hit og tar vannprøver av vannet for å sjekke at vannet er trygt, og at vannkvaliteten blir bra. 

 
This has been an old garbage dump, which was active during the period 1966 to 1977. Efforts have been done in recent years to improve the area and get away pollutants, like getting away heavy metals and nutrients in the river. School children in the area come here and take water samples of the water to check that the water is safe , and that the water quality is good.
