Geocache Description:

This multi will show you some interesting places around the forest „Roudebësch“.

Distance: ~2,5 km. Have a nice walk!

You will pass:

- a giant  oak tree with a diameter of over 1,50 meter and a circumference of 5 meters. It is considered as one of the oldest oaks in Luxembourg (over 280 years) and has been declared „liberty tree 1914-1918“ after world war one

- remains of an enclosure. In fact, after world war two, NATO planned to install in the forest a well hidden fuel depot. For this reason, the entire forest has been fenced in. You will discover some entrance portals an posts, although the major part of them have been taken away

- remains of planed railway road connecting Luxembourg-Wasserbillig to Remich. It has never been finished. On this hill, ruptured by the road „Kiem“, has grown up a little forest. The place is called „Schiresch Biintjen“ today

- a wayside cross (it is not known how old it is)

Enjoy this little walk around „Roudebësch“
