I want to give back to the geocaching community and am awash with small containers which are otherwise destined for the bin. Free geocaches anyone?!
I wanted to make my next cache a little bit different - yet again! So this time I'm doing the unspeakable and encouraging people to take from the cache without necessarily leaving anything - do not apply this principle elsewhere in the geocaching world though please!
Rationale:
I have far too many small watertight containers which I don't know what to do with so I thought I would offer them to to geocaching community in case anyone else can help put them to use? There is a selfish element to this, of course: I would like to find some more caches!
Container and location:
You're looking for a large tub sprayed grey and nestled out of sight on the other side of a fence near the main road through Fawley. No need to cross any fences - follow the public footpath down and then back up on yourself. Mind the nettles!
Cache type:
I thought I'd go for my favourite type again and make this a letterbox. It's at the published coords so no additional work to do. Inside the cache there is the log book and pencil plus a set of stamps and ink pads. These are for you to have a bit of fun with either in your own caching/letterboxing records or in the log book. Please do not take any of these items or I will cry!
Swaps:
No swaps of any kind please with the exception of other suitable cache containers (if you have any) or trackables which don't count as usual swag. Please resist the temptation to leave little trinkets here as it'll clog up cache space and there are plenty of other containers where they're welcome.
Parking:
There isn't any official parking along the main road nearby but you're really close to Fawley village where there are lots of options. The cache is near an access gate which seems to be locked but if you choose to park here, be sure to be able to move out of the way if necessary and do not do anything dangerous.
Views:
GZ itself I'm afraid has no exciting views but keep walking down the path and you can enjoy a lovely field of horses and the looming chimney of Fawley Power Station, if, like me, that's your thang. I appreciate that my love of chimneys, pylons and wind farms is not shared by all!
Nothing else to say but enjoy this find and let me know if the coordinates are OK. Tree cover was a bit of a problem when I placed it. If there aren't many containers left in the cache, let me know and I'll go restock it!
