OFLG #36: Portal Traditional Cache

Another series of Team Norac Geocaches! These ones follow along CMP Power Lines and/or ITS 87. They are consistent with our other hides. No knowledge of any of the subject matter for these caches is required to find them, and none of them are puzzle caches.

Video games have grown a lot since the earliest video games were developed in the 50's and 60's. Now, the game industry is just as big as the other entertainment media, with its own big-time gamemakers and indie developers. This series is meant to celebrate great video games of all kinds, from all times.

Portal is a first-person puzzle game developed by Valve and released in 2007. Released originally as part of a bundle with Half-Life 2 Episode 2, the game took on a life of its own due to its relatively short length, uniqueness of the game mechanics, and the writing for the character of GLaDoS. Jonathan Coulton's song Still Alive was written specifically for this game; the song became memetically popular due to the game, as did the line "the cake is a lie."
