This should be a fairly easy C&D for most cachers. You can grab this one while out for a drive, going fishing, biking or hiking ... or simply strolling along with your geodog enjoying the serenity of nature, like we do. :) Just watch for muggles - occasionally, but very rarely, there may be a fisherman around, or someone taking their dog for a dip in the water. No pencil included, so bring your own. A parking pull off is available on either side of bridge. Enjoy!
Back in the day, long before we started geocaching, this was an old open-grate bridge. And up until 2010, it still was. When we first discovered this road and forest, we had our first Labrador retriever pup, Essie (EstherRose), and would take her here for walks. She was scared to death of the open-grate and refused to walk across it. As a pup, it was no problem carrying her, but of course, as she got older and weighed 100 lbs. we were no longer able. So....we either began or ended our walks at this bridge, and forever after, we referred to this landmark as 'Essie's Bridge.' :) At the age of 11, we had to say goodbye to our beloved girl in October of 2014, but she will always be our first love. We amuse ourselves with another lab now, and our new geodog, Miss Ella Rose. But our Essie will be furever in our hearts. This bridge cache is dedicated to her, as well as the trackable (Essie's 'Dog Tag') originally placed inside.
