Geocache Description:

A little known or visited nature reserve just off the highway that needs some love so come along find some geocaches and enjoy this beautiful bush area.

Welcome to Hughes Creek Hill Reserve
This reserve has been here as long as I can remember. Not far from the cache you will find some picnic tables and a wood fired BBQ, sadly they have seen better days.
I used to help hunt foxes here with the family 50 years ago. All the kids (me included) and the mothers would walk from one end of the ridge yelling and banging pots to drive the foxes down the ridge, the fathers would be at the other end waiting. That was in the days when there was a bounty on fox pelts, there were fewer foxes then than there are now.
Now its a nature reserve and there are great views of the surrounding countryside.

Access to the Picnic Area
You can drive to within 200 meters of the cache with a 2 wheel drive vehicle and from there it will be a 500 meter walk, it's sort of a drive by with a 4x4 vehicle. Yes, its at the top.

The Cache
A 1/2 liter(ish) plastic jar located where you should make sure you hold on.
