[quote]Hi,

I am the natural areas manager for the Department of Natural Resources and noticed that several geocaches have been located on some of our Natural Resource Conservation Area (NRCA). While our lands are open to the public our mission is the preservation of the ecosystem with very limited recreational opportunities. We would prefer that geocaching not be a part of our natural areas and formally ask that you remove the following sites from your website:

GC6E27 - Tombolo trek on Cypress NRCA

Thank you for your prompt attention to the matter.

Thank you for understanding and taking care of this matter promptly.

Geocache Description:

At the Cypress Head Recreation Area on Cypress Island. Access to the site is by water only.

Bring your boat or kayak to the quiet beauty of Cypress Head. Great example of a Northwest tombolo.

Cache was placed in September '01, but we never got around to posting it. We visited again April 2002 and verified the coordinates. It's a small non-waterproof plastic container, so be sure to place any items inside the enclosed plastic bag.

Original contents: universal TV remote, new golf balls, cat toys, keyring, Map N Go CD, pen, logbook.

Many trails wind around the head, cache requires a short off trail excursion. Watch for eagles, raccoons, sea life ... maybe even orca in Bellingham channel!
