Geocache Description:

The Parkend - Whitecroft Round joins the two villages along forest paths and there is on road parking to be found in both villages. Steam trains may be seen on the Dean Forest Railway which is close to the eastern side of the route and there are stations in both villages. Tree cover might affect GPSr accuracy so helpful hints are provided. This one could be a cache and dash or the start of the PWR series. There is convenient parking.

THERE ARE WILD BORE HERE IN THE FOREST SO DOG OWNERS ARE ADVISED TO KEEP THEIR DOGS ON A LEAD. See PWR IVTree log by rubyseekers 17/4/17

Once a hive of industry with blast furnaces, tinplate works railway sidings for loading coal and stone, Parkend is now at peace, more or less. This cache had to be moved a little because so many bird watchers come to try and spot the elusive Hawfinch just where I originally placed it. Telephoto lenses can often be seen protruding from parked cars. Be aware that the cache is on a roadside footpath that is also shared with cycles.
