For my Eagle Scout project, We started cleaning out this cemetery and building the columns here to mark the entrance. We uncovered more stones for unmarked grave then any one knew was here. Finishing the project will be done with another two or three scouts completing their projects all so.
The Cemetery dates back to the early 1800's and may contain some of Andrew Jackson's troop (in the several dozen of un-marked graves) who were gathering and preparing to march south for the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. We know of several vets buried here including one Buffalo solider.
