Back in 2005 -- practically the Cretaceous Period of geocaching -- two geocachers from Minnesota placed a cache in this rest area and asked me to be the local cache maintainer. Almost 11 years and 592 logged finds later the cache -- A Cachers Tale -- was archived. But the rest area could definitely hold another cache so I decided to place one. But I made this one way more unlikely to get muggled. And as the introduction to this cache says, there is the very real possibility of physical injury while attempting this cache.
As you will see if you get to either of the two reference points the cache is located at the top of a very, very steep slope. I scrambled the last ten feet on my hands and knees. And as hard as it was getting to the top, it was way scarier looking back down and contemplating how I would make it to the bottom without falling/plunging/hurtling to my probably not death but at the very least my compound fractures in a couple of limbs. So please, please, please take my warnings seriously and don't even attempt this one unless you are physically fit and capable of making the ascent and descent without falling/plunging/hurtling. This is definitely NOT suitable for kids.
Should you make it to the top of the slope the cache -- a medium-sized Lock&Lock-style container -- shouldn't be all that hard to find. As with many of my caches the "logbook" is pink. A Sharpie will work better than a pen which will work better than a pencil. Enjoy! And please be careful.
