I remember when the road was closed with half a dozen 44 gallon drums, sometimes with a fire inside them to make them more visible. Now a far easier system is in place - there are gates which may be swung around to cross the road.
Next to these gates is the building where staff may wait until,the all clear is given before reopening gates
