Geocache Description:

A small cache located near to a very small beach that has some nice views and a chance to take some nice photographs of the Solent on a sunny day.

You'll have 2-3 minute walk to the location of the cache as parking is only available at the nearby church Holy Cross which is worth a visit also if you don't know the area. Binstead is a small village on the edge of Ryde where it is easy to miss the bridge that divides the two. First recorded in the Domesday book in 1086 as Benstead, its history surrounds the quarrying of limestone which was used to build the original Quarr Abbay which was destroyed by Henry VIII. There is a very popular walk from the Geocache location to Quarr Abbey which eventually ends at Fishbourne taking in some nice views and history. This is the second cache I have placed in the area of Binstead so far and thoroughly enjoy geochaching with my family.
