History:
Model Farms was the name of this suburb before it became Winston Hills after being subdivided and developed in the 1960’s.
In 1873, Governor Denison intended that a section of the Governors Domain subdivision should become an experimental model farm to demonstrate farming practices to convicts and free settlers who wished to start a farm. He granted land to the Agricultural Society of NSW for its development. It was fenced but due to a lack of resources to develop it further, it was let for grazing.
This 11.9 hectare bushland reserve which now bears the name Model Farms Reserve features a children’s playground, one third basketball court and bushwalking trails.
The Cache:
The cache is unfortunately a little smaller than its previous incarnation and therefore only has room for a few small swaps. It is still big enough for trackables.
Please replace cache and retrieval system exactly as found.
