Geocache Description:

Tanker Jetty, Esperance (1935)

Built during the Great Depression, it brought much needed work to the area and was Esperance's major commercial jetty for 30 years.  The last tanker unloaded fuel at the jetty in 1977.

Tanker Jetty is iconic to Esperance and has always been a favourite for locals and tourists.

Congratulations Baman_5 for being a super quick First to Find! :-D

Due to the jetty being unsafe to walk on, it has unfortunately been closed to the public, but the area is still a fantastic place to visit!  The foreshore has been totally redeveloped and offers a childrens playground, bbq's and heaps of grassed areas to play.  There's a few paths to stroll along the foreshore all the way in to town.

Don't be alarmed if your Geo App shows the Cache as being in the water!  When the foreshore was revamped, the shire developed the headland extending it out past where the land originally was, the Cache is very much dry and has easy access!!!

Happy Hunting :-)
