Box Top Traditional Cache

A small cache overlooking a Box Canyon with another cache in the Canyon and out among the Penny series

Due to the explosion of the Pipe Line you cannot get closer then 1/2 mile of the cache. So I raised the Terrain rating and you now need to make a 1/2 hike to get there.

Earlier this year while out doing the Penny Series we placed a cache in the neat Box Canyon at the bottom of this bluff.  At the time we felt that it would be great to put one up top. So here is the Box Top.

In the spirit of the Penny Series it is about the same size and is hidden it a similar manner.

This is a remote area so be sure to let someone know where you are going.  Carry water and at least one good spare.  A 2WD with good clearance should be able to get here but only via the pipeline road from the North.  If coming from the south or the wash, a 4x4 is necessary.  Only YOU can determine if is OK to go here as ONLY YOU know your vehicle and skill level it’s a long way to walk out and it get hot over 90 today.
