If you have never heard of Cloudcroft or have never had a reason
to go up the mountain well now ya do! It is a beautiful Village, Population 750
with an elevation of 9400ft. It is worth the drive up just to cool off and visit
the forest (if open). During the summer months it can get real dry, and the
forest folks have to do what they can to protect there National Forests. During
the winter the cache WILL be under snow, so if ya feel like a bit of a challenge
give a try then. While your in Cloudcroft take advantage of the area, and check
out Downtown and the near by historic Mexican Canyon Trestle A&SM Railroad line
- the Cloud Climbing Route).
